Joachim Rubbert was born in 1937 in Berlin, where he still lives nowadays. Not only has he survived close call air raid alarms, two bombings and the most terrible post-war years, but he has also found the love of his life, his wife, with whom he has been married for over 53 years now. In addition to his turbulent career, which includes 15 years of being a professional firefighter, a trucker and attending an evening school to become a professional economist, the author also knew that our life doesn't just consist of work. He spends his retirement enjoying his writing and a company of his 3 children, 2 grandchildren and, as of recently, his great-grandson.
