Sylvia Didem has been interested in the universe since her childhood. Her interest in the nature of light and astrophysics engendered her enthusiasm for science fiction novels.
For many years she worked as an optician until her dream came true and, at the age of fifty-three, she turned to studying physics, to learn "what holds the world together at its core". Since
the introduction of tuition fees, as well as continuing as a guest student, she began writing science fiction.
Following a fan-fiction novel of the Star Trek universe, she wrote her first book titled: "Die Chance - Reise durch Zeit und Raum" (The opportunity - travel through space and time). In the summer of
2014 the sequel followed under the title: "Jenseits von Rot das Blau" (Beyond of Red the Blue).
She cherishes her great love for the English Lake District, having visited and hiked there more than 30 times.
Sylvia find relaxation in her large garden and in reading about history, mainly the ancient times and the works of Goethe and his time. She works at an astronomical association and follows the latest
developments in astrophysics, cosmology and particle physics.
