Renate Behr was born in Bochum-Wattenscheid in 1954. From an early age history, literature and writing counted as favourite hobbies of the learned travel agent. Writing has become her profession. Since 2007, several novels from different genres were published by the author, that lives in the southern Münsterland.
She became famous with the crime series: Werne-Krimi. So far seven volumes have been published. The eighth was recently announced for 2015.
In the literature competition "WasserWerke Renate Behr was awarded with the 2009 Prize of the City Marl for her contribution, "Der Russenkopp", which is now published in the anthology "Voll in die Fresse" of the Rollfinke-Verlag in Vienna.
Her short-crime-story "Zurück nach Köln" taken from the anthology "Cruor" of the Candela Verlag was, within the scope of the short story competition 2010/2011, selected by an independent jury to second place.
